San Diego Project Ready Secondary Education Program (8th – 12th)

The Project Ready program is a start-to-finish program.  Participation in this program in each subsequent year is contingent on the student meeting all requirements in each preceding program year.  Each program year consists of 10 months of enrichment activities, workshops, and seminars designed to help students effectively lead their peers while still matriculating through school and prepare for leadership roles in college, career, and life.

This program focuses on Mentorship, Leadership Development, Historical and Cultural Literacy, College Tours, College, National Case Competition, and Career Preparation while in partnership with the National Urban League. Because we are in San Diego and due to the demographics of the students in the program, we also discuss parallels, influences, and connections among the Latino, Afro-Latino, African, Pan-Asian, and other underrepresented communities.

The Project Ready curriculum on College and Career Readiness and Historical and cultural literacy seeks to address the lack of culturally relevant and historically accurate curricula on the urban experience in America and empower youth with positive images of themselves as people who have impacted the social, economic, political, and cultural development of this nation, yesterday and today.

Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who complete the program from start to finish, complete more than 88% of required activities, are active in the KUDER online platform, actively engage in activity discussions, and attend the necessary Golden Pyramid Scholars Program in May.

Participation is required in the Annual Golden Pyramid Scholars Program held on Sunday, May 16, 2027 (held on the 3rd Sunday of May each year).
