Safe, habitable, and affordable housing is a basic need. Whether you are renting or buying, a home should not be an insurmountable obstacle. The Urban League of San Diego County (ULSDC) has HUD certified housing counselors that offers numerous related workshops and individual coaching.

In addition, ULSDC’s Housing Department provides direct service programs and resources to individuals and families who seek assistance with removing barriers preventing them from accessing safe, sanitary, and permanent housing.

HFAP Overview
The San Diego Foundation and the Urban League of San Diego County have implemented the Housing Financial Assistance Program to support San Diego County residents who are at imminent risk of homelessness due to past-due rental arrears.
This initiative is designed to promote housing stability, prevent homelessness, and help residents regain financial self-sufficiency.
Through this program, eligible residents may receive one-time financial assistance of up to $10,000. Payments are made directly to landlords on behalf of approved applicants.
San Diego County residents who currently receive ongoing monthly rental assistance through Section 8, HIPP, or another rental assistance/subsidy program are not eligible for HFAP.
